Redwood Literacy’s Transformative School Partnerships for the 2024-2025 School YearRedwood Literacy’s Transformative School Partnerships for the 2024-2025 School Year

In recent years, Redwood Literacy has begun to revolutionize literacy intervention by partnering with schools and organizations to deliver cutting-edge, personalized educational support to students during their school day. These collaborations have given students the opportunity to access individualized instruction in reading, writing, math, and assistive technology—right within their academic schedule. The results? Tremendous academic growth and empowered learners.

For the 2024-2025 school year, Redwood Literacy is excited to extend our reach, partnering with ten schools across Illinois. This partnership model enables students to receive live, high-dosage interventions through targeted virtual small group sessions—whenever it best fits their school schedules. Together, Redwood and our partner schools will be serving around 130 students from 1st to 9th grade, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to thrive.

Meet Our 2024-2025 School Partners:

Moving Everest Charter School

Located in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, Moving Everest Charter School has a mission to equip students with the academic and social-emotional skills they need to succeed in life. In the summer of 2022, their leadership team reached out to Redwood Literacy, seeking an evidence-based solution for their struggling tier two and tier three students. It was an instant alignment of goals, and we were thrilled to step in and provide 33 of their students with top-tier reading interventions.

Following a successful initial school year, Redwood expanded this partnership by launching our first summer program with Moving Everest, allowing students to continue their literacy journey and prevent any academic regression during the summer months. Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, we continued to provide services incorporating both the Wilson Reading System® and Spell-Links™ programs, ensuring that each student received precisely the support they needed.

As we now embark on our third year of partnership, we remain more committed than ever to making this school year a transformative one for Moving Everest students!

Distinctive Schools

Redwood is overjoyed to expand our collaboration with Distinctive Schools, a network of public charter schools that serves diverse learners across the Chicago area. We began working with Distinctive Schools during the second semester of the 23-24 school year with great success. This year, we’re honored to be supporting students at all eight of their campuses.

With more than 80 students across grades 2 through 12 receiving literacy interventions, this partnership reflects both organizations' shared commitment to personalized learning. Distinctive Schools’ innovative approach to education provides the perfect environment for Redwood to offer transformative support to students in need.

Galapagos Charter Schools

This year marks the beginning of an exciting partnership between Redwood Literacy and Galapagos Charter Schools in Rockford, IL. Known for its rigorous academic standards and commitment to closing achievement gaps, Galapagos is an ideal partner as we share their dedication to educational equity.

In our inaugural year, Redwood will provide intensive reading interventions to 20 students through the Wilson® and Spell-Links™ programs. We couldn’t be more thrilled to join forces with Galapagos and look forward to seeing the impact our services will have on their students.

Through these meaningful partnerships, Redwood Literacy is proud to help foster substantial literacy growth in students throughout Illinois. By blending Redwood’s best-in-class literacy interventions with direct school support and ease of sessions provided during the school day, we’re empowering students with the skills they need to thrive academically—and far beyond.

We’re excited to keep you updated throughout the year with student success stories, progress reports, and major milestones as our 2024-2025 journey unfolds!
